SAFAS Introduction to Food Safety
All personnel who have
access to food preparation areas and the kitchens need to be trained to
a minimum ‘awareness’ level.
This is to ensure that they understand and implement basic personal
hygiene, elements of contamination prevention, cleaning procedures,
disposal of refuse etc.
This is a short course,
approx 2 hours with a multi-choice test at the end.

A very cost-effective way
to run your own training for waiters, bar staff, kitchen
porters/assistants, drivers, packers etc.
‘Introduction to Food Safety’ provides the essentials of Food
Safety Awareness in a simple
but powerful, self-learn program which you can run on your own PC
in-house. Staff can go through the course at their own pace and then
complete a
multi-choice exam at the end; the program allows a SAFAS certificate
to be printed off by successful candidates.
CIEH Level 2 Awards in Food Safety in Catering
This course is designed for all food handlers and is
designed to provide the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice. This
is a one day course, with a multiple choice exam at the end.
